my thoughts on revenge porn regulation.

KMTR asked on their facebook wall, "do you think revenge porn should be illegal and result in a misdomeaner criminal charge?"
Using my brain, law, and knowledge of government and how to regulate the world in a fair and impartial manner, rather than on emotions and gut feeling like everyone else:
No because governments job is not to regulate all personal behavior and relationships. And government should not have the ability to tell people, "no you cannot do this, must prevent yourself from doing this activity just because we don't like it".
The world will go on with home made porn and it usually requires a persons consent in the first place with people consenting and taking part in most cases. And I am in favor of saying, "ok, your fault, you did it, live with the consequence".
You got to put a foot down and say, ok, you made porn so why are we to infringe on someone elses liberty and rights to say they can't have it, view it, and share it?
And in the case of revenge porn, I don't think its really revenge porn. I think its regular old photos and videos people make of themselves, doing stupid things and then regretting it later. Revenge porn is more of a marketing gimmick or term. Because people should have the right to share porn that was made and which they possess, regardless. Its a 1st amendment thing and personal freedom.
Unfortunately once someone else has porn of you its really out of your control what someone else does with it. Because they have rights too and are their own person, and you cannot control what someone else does. It just isn't fair for society to expect to be able to control others and restrict peoples liberty and personal choices, beyond stopping people from physically hurting and killing others.
Best bet: don't make porn of yourself unless you're cool with other people seeing it. And I think we should assume, if you take porn of yourself, then you are ok, consenting to people seeing it.
People .. study up on the 1st amendment btw, photography is protected 1st amendment and you also have a right to display it, even if its without a persons consent. The only time this may not be true is if the porn was taken in a place like where you didn't know and you had a reasonable expectation of privacy, like say.. a toilet in your own home, and there was a camera in the toilet recording a dump coming out your butt. Lol.
Governments purpose should not be for a group in power to demand of other creatures something which they should have no right to demand, and people should not have to worry about being imprisoned for living their own lives and going against others "unreasonable demands."
