I don't recommend people answer this in great detail because personally identifiable information like your actual birth-place down to the city is very specific and may be used to steal your identity. At best people should just give their home country and state, leaving out the city to be safe.

I think the purpose is to track how broad the harassment is. To answer whether it is more prevalent in the big city or in suburbs or in urban loctions. Varying socio-economic demographics, etc.

See I know that.. what we need is an anonymizer for the info.

The risk is a hacker or band of thugs who aren't involved in government can use info like that to do serious harm. The government can already do it and knows, whereas the public has a harder time.

People like myself are targets for all such exploitations. So I cannot participate.
